To the Front Music Alliance (based out of Raleigh, NC) – “To The Front Music Alliance is for the underrepresented; our goal is to provide a welcoming and safe space for musicians and artists of every age, skill level, gender, and race. We want to focus on the fundamental truth behind music and art by creating an encouraging environment for everyone, especially (but not limited to) women, trans, queer, POC, and allies to meet and create. All creativity is valid. We seek to break down conditioned ideas of what “good” music sounds and looks like, and facilitate self-discovery through music, art, and collaboration.” Monthly meetings at Nice Price Books. Triangle Electro Jam (NC Triangle) – A group of musicians interested in jamming with other musicians using electric/electronic instruments (synths, guitars, noise boxes, etc.). Also a place to network with other musicians and post announcements about upcoming jam sessions and music events. Holds gear swaps/sales and networking events.

Arcana (Durham, NC) – Basement bar with a living room feel. Best suited for smaller-sized acts, given the venue’s space and PA. Shows are donation based. Contact:

Nightlight (Chapel Hill, NC) – Tiny art-land vortex run by low-budget party people, a dedicated task force of well-wishers and sympathizers. The whole operation is backed up by a fabulous community of fans and music lovers who support experimentation! Contact:

The Pinhook (Durham, NC) – Venue and bar for live music, dance parties, basic chilling, and collaborative / creative events. Safe space for lgbtqi folks, POC groups, punks, lawyers, cyclists, trivia nerds, and everyone else. Contact:

Silber Records (NC) – Organic ambient, Acoustic low-fi and Post-angst label dedicated to building community through music. Silber Records was started in 1996 by Brian John Mitchell to offer his support to artists he loved & respected.
